Crysis 2 Review - A Shinny Fps Video Game

For marketing purposes the development video game companies like to make bold statements, really bold. Like Crytek. They promised to deliver the best visually, graphically first person shooter video game ever created. Crysis 2. I do not know where you stand, but for me this is a really bold statement. Ever created? Come on! There is not a thing like that, the best game ever created. Nonetheless they achieved to deliver something good. Really good. Or better I should say, something extremely good.

At March 2011 Crysis 2 was published from Electronic Arts, for multiple platforms (pc, xbox, ps3) and most of the gamers went crazy. And I do not blame them. The game so far has monopolized the interest of all the fps players worldwide. That is what some of the most respected video game magazines claim. For me is just another marketing trick and a really bold statement. Crysis 2 so far has some really high ratings and really favorable reviews.

Crytek has really delivered what they promised. One of the greatest graphically games ever created. The game is incredibly amazing. In order for someone to reveal all its glory and unveil all the beauty he must have a really powerful gaming machine. If you buy the game for xbox or ps3 then you wont have a problem because it was mostly designed to run on those platforms. But if you have a pc then you should be prepared. But my pc is a moderate one and I was still able to play the game on the lowest settings of course, but I could still feel and see most of the magic.

Let say a few things about the story, scenario of the game.

An alien race which they look like squids have attacked and overran Earth's major cities. The human defenses of each nation, were not capable to fight back and drive them off. So now humans are fighting for survival and they have adapted guerrilla tactics in order to recapture a few square kilometers of land here and there. One of those cities is New York of USA. The city is almost utterly destroyed. You have never seen the city in such a bad shape. Huge buildings raised to the ground, ruins and rubble all over the place. The city has been officially evacuated but unofficially there are still people living there.

The city is under martial law due to an unknown virus breakout. A lot of dead due to the virus and a lot of dead due to the aliens. Like all that weren't enough private military-mercenary companies are trying to take over the city under their control.

I do not know what you think about all that but for me the whole situation is really messed up. Although the story is not something new and a lot of you while reading this article might have similar pictures in your minds from games and movies, still the presentation is really beautiful.

Crysis 2 is one of the greatest first person shooter video games ever created and it will make you stay in front of your screen for hours and hours. It is totally worth your time and money. Buy it and enjoy it you won't regret it.
